In 2021, I acquired a large quantity of Ex World War II Chillington barbed wire cutters. These cleverly designed folding wire cutters were once a vital part of every soldier’s survival kit. Seeing their potential, I was inspired to repurpose them into a bespoke light feature.
By reconfiguring several of these historical tools and incorporating modern lighting components, I crafted a truly unique light fixture.
This project not only brought a fresh function to these important pieces of history but also gave them a new purpose and place in the present.
The result is a one-of-a-kind light feature that combines vintage craftsmanship with contemporary design, serving as both a functional piece and a conversation starter. It’s a joy to see these historical items shining brightly once more.
